Drew Smith Archaeological Illustration

A Bit About . . .

I am a freelance illustrator, living in Glastonbury,
specialising in producing images for the
archaeological and heritage publishing sectors.
Having a background in technical illustration and
commercial graphics gave me a useful foundation
upon which to base my passion for painting and
drawing historical subjects. An honours degree in
archaeological illustration, full membership of the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors (AAI&S) plus valuable experience managing a county archaeological drawing office provided the tools needed to pursue my freelance career. I was recently elected chair of the AAI&S. Prior to this, I produced the newsletter 'Graphic Archeaology' for two years.

Recent clients include: English Heritage, West Berkshire District Council, 3's Co Archaeological Consultants, Heritage Publishing, AOC Archaeology, Northamptonshire Archaeology, The Paul Drury Partnership, John Goodall and the Scottish Forestry Commission.
